The Grand Opening of The Iris Garden

An exceptional bloom of flowers can be seen through May 20 below Piazzale Michelangelo in the Iris Garden. Over 10,000 varieties of iris in a full spectrum of colors can be found from all over the world. Visitors are welcomed to walk through the five-acre park to admire the flourishing garden. In addition, the 60th edition of the International Iris Competition will take place May 7 to 12. Gardening courses, events and guided tours will be offered during this annual event.

The garden is open free of charge from Monday – Friday, 10 am – 1 pm and 3 – 7:30 pm, and Saturday – Sunday, 10 am – 7:30 pm. Bus 12 and 13 can be taken from Santa Maria Novella to reach Piazzle Michaelangelo. To reserve a guided tour, visit www.societaitalianairis.com.
