Armando Poggi Gifts

Armando Poggi GiftsArmando Poggi, founded in 1936, is one of Florence’s famous family businesses, run jointly by the son and grandson of its namesake.  For three generations, the shop has been known for its high-quality selection of accessories, home décor and gifts.

Items range from classically elegant china and porcelain to hand-painted furniture.

The store is surprisingly friendly to a broad scope of budgets and ages, without ever compromising quality. For convenience, the Armando Poggi offers UPS shipping to the States and throughout Europe.

The “Fish Design” line of vases and jewelry by the Italian architect and designer Gaetano Pesce is handcrafted from polycarbonate and silicon materials.

For a delicious and affordable gift, chocolates from the French brand Le Comptoir de Mathilde are available.  These delectable treats come in unique shapes, paired with a tiny chocolate hammer to break them apart.

An eye-catching table setting on the store’s ground floor displays colorful plates from the Italian line Seletti’s “Hybrid” collection. Reflecting a distinctly East-meets-West aesthetic, the pieces were crafted with care in Italy, yet they are decorated with designs inspired by traditional Japanese and Chinese art.

Among the other Italian items is crystal by Mario Cioni, including small crystal paperweights. Armando Poggi carries home accessories, kitchenware and jewelry by Venini, one of the most recognized names in Murano glass.

On the second floor of Armando Poggi, customers walk past a striking bird’s-eye view of the Duomo to enter another section of the shop.  Pristine glass shelves teem with porcelain, china, crystal and silver, hearkening back to the store’s origins.  Every year, the Poggi family takes one or two trips to London, hand-selecting English silver from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, making for a personalized touch to any gift.

Charms and beads from the Copenhagen-based brand Pandora are among the store’s recent top sellers.  With Pandora, patrons can choose specific jewelry materials, customizing their creations up to the finishing touches.  For a similar gift with an Italian twist, the Arezzo-based label Desphaera Gioelli allows customers to select an Italian leather bracelet—often woven—and their own bead, either enameled or made of Murano glass.
