Candlelight Vigil at Florence’s U.S. Consulate

Sunday, November 13: CANDLELIGHT VIGIL. Meeting point, Lungarno Vespucci under the Garibaldi statue. 5 pm.

The public is invited to bring a candle and join a vigil outside Florence’s American Consulate organized by Democrats Abroad Florence and US Citizens Against War as a show of commitment to an America of inclusion and hope in the future.

After the result of Tuesday’s elections, it represents a moment to stand together against racial, sexual, LGBT and religious hatred and discrimination, anti-environmentalism and climate-change denial, anti-union and anti-worker policies, militarism and foreign aggression.

It is a call for solidarity among our people and the rest of the world, tolerance and cultural diversity, peace and diplomacy, protection of the environment and a politics of sustainable development, and a woman’s right to choose.
