A Contemporary Architecture Talk in English

Noted architect Axel Paredes will give a lecture in English on the subject “Material Modulation” at California State University, via G. Leopardi 12 on January 31 at 4 pm.  The event is free and the public is welcome.

Paredes received a Master of Architecture from MIT where he was awarded the Imre Halasz thesis prize, a Master of Arts with Distinction from the Architectural Association in London, a Master in Construction Technology from Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM), and a Bsc. Architecture from University of Utah. He has been a Visiting Professor at TEC Monterrey, UDLA Universidad de Las Américas, the Architectural Association and other schools of architecture.

He has been invited to lecture at UC Dublin, Politecnico di Milano, University of East London, Queens University Belfast, Harvard GSD, Rhode Island School of Design, UT Arlington, Universidad de Los Andes and other institutions around the world. The work of his office Paredes+Alemán has been published in Domus and other journals, was nominated for the MCHAP Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize awards in 2016, was finalist in the Quito Biennale in 2015, and was awarded two prizes at the Guatemala Architecture Biennale in 2017.
