From knuckle clenching thrills in Sully to the classic Christmas story of The Wizard of Oz, and many more, there is a wide selection of films at the Odeon theater. Shown below is their December calendar of features with original sound in English.

December 6-11: Sully.  Based on pilot Chesley Sullenberger’s autobiographical book “Highest Duty” viewers relive the tale of an airplane that hit a flock of geese, disabling both engines and the pilot’s risky choice to land the damaged plane in New York’s Hudson River. All 155 passengers and crew survived with minor injuries and “Sully” became an overnight hero. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film stars Tom Hanks, Aaron Eckhart and Laura Linney.

December 11-12: The Wizard of Oz.  The restored version of the beloved story of an innocent farm girl from Kansas and her dog Toto, swept away by a tornado into the magical world of Oz.   Filmed in Technicolor, this American fairytale stars 15-year-old Judy Garland singing the unforgettable “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The cast of characters includes Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow, Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, Professor Marvel and Glinda the Good Witch of the North. Filmgoers can see in film in Italian December 11 and in the original English on December 12.

December 12-14: Juste la Fin du Monde (It’s Only the End of the World). A writer, terminally ill, returns to his hometown to announce his impending death. The film, filled with tensions and family conflict, received the Grand Prix Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Screened in the original French.

December 15-25: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This epic space drama, set before the events of Star Wars, follows a group of insurgent Rebel spies on a mission to steal plans for the Galactic Empire’s new super weapon, the Death Star. Shot in London, Iceland and the Maldives, it stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Mads Mikkelsen.

December 26-31: Lion. This uplifting true story stars Dev Patel as a man, Saroo, who got lost as a five-year-old when departing a train in Calcutta. Unable to explain to authorities where he came from, he’s adopted by an Australian couple.   Twenty-five years later he utilizes Google earth to discover the train station’s location and sets out to find his family.
