Florence’s Sept. 4 Free Museum Sunday

On Sunday, September 4, no admission will be charged at Florence’s state-run museums, while city-run museums are accessible at no cost to residents of the greater metropolitan area.

So, take the opportunity to visit, for free: the Uffizi Gallery; the Palatine Gallery, the Porcelain Museum, the Costume Gallery and the Silver Museum in the Pitti Palace; the Academy Gallery; the Bargello (National Sculpture Museum), the Archeological Museum; the Medici Chapels and Palazzo Davanzati.

The civic museums include the Church of  Santa Maria Novella, Brancacci Chapel, the Novecento Museum of 20th Century Art and the Bardini as well as Palazzo Vecchio.
