Calling All Ladies to the Rosamimosa Race

Saturday, March 11: The Rosamimosa is the oldest women’s race in Italy in honor of celebrating women, equal rights, the fight against oppression, femicide, and violence—a prominent social problem here in Italy. Starting at 4 pm this 8k (5 mi) race offers a scenic route through the hills and a small clump of woods after departing from Betti athletics stadium on via Soffiano where the course also ends.

The itinerary leads up the hill to Boschetto down again then up to Bellosguardo (where the participants can also enjoy one of the best views in Florence) to Marignolle and back to Soffiano.

There is also an option for a shorter 4k (2.5)  race on more level terrain.

The race is open to women of all ages and the fee to participate is only 5 euro. The event will also offer a supervised playgroup for kids while the moms can focus on their run in the spirit of keeping women’s needs in mind. One can even register the day of the race.
