New Bus Line to Bardini & Belvedere

Forte Belvedere

Undertaking the steep climb from Florence’s center to the panoramic hills that surround the city is no easy feat. However, it has just been announced that a new public bus line, Ataf Fb, will follow a route linking Florence’s centro storico to the hills outside the city walls.

The creation of Ataf Fb, which has been aptly labeled as “the bus of art exhibitions,” is particularly notable in that it will provide the public with transportation to and from Forte Belvedere and the Villa Bardini. Both sites routinely feature exhibitions that attract many visitors.

From July 18 to October 1, Ataf Fb, which is accessible with a regular Ataf & Linea bus ticket, will be making 15 round trips a day. From Tuesday to Sunday, an Ataf Fb bus will run every 30 minutes starting at 10 am and ending at 7 pm.

One line of the Fb bus will make its first stop in the piazza Pitti and the other line will make its first stop at Forte Belvedere. The stops in between will be, in consecutive order: Via dei Bardi, piazza dei Mozzi in front of the Bardini Museum, Porta San Miniato, Forte Belvedere in via San Leonardo, Galilei Avenue, Piazzale Galilei, Viale Machiavelli, Porta Romana, via Romana, and piazza San Felice.

The ‘Fb’ line will be inaugurated on July 18 at 8:30 pm at its piazza Pitti stop in the presence of Mayor Dario Nardella. Since the City of Florence partnered with Florence’s Cassa di Risparmio foundation to create the new line, Cassa di Risparmio of Florence president Umberto Tombari will also be in attendance.  (margaux glovier)
