It’s official — Florence hosted a record number of tourists in 2025: 4,6 million, 300,000 more than in 2024.

This is in contrast to the number of year-round city residents, which number 362,000.

New regulations regarding Airbnb rentals, with the obligation for the private rentals to be identified by an official national identification code (CIN), which must also be displayed on the doorbell, has also made official statistic gathering easier.

The CIN code, the acronym for Codice Identificativo Nazionale, also ensures that a property listed on Airbnb is up to standard and legitimate.

The statistic also includes, of course, hotel guests.
