A Guide to Florence’s Holiday Charity Fairs 2024
Here is an at-a-glance guide to Florence’s major holiday fairs that will take place during the first week of December, 2024.
Friday, Dec. 6: CHRISTMAS FAIR. British Institute Library, Lungarno Guicciardini 9. 3 – 6 pm.
Expect to find art, crafts, gifts and food including homemade desserts for sale in addition, tea with biscuits and cakes served by volunteers and a lottery featuring prizes including a Fortnum and Mason hamper filled with English Christmas delicacies, bottles of fine wine and handmade boxes by Anne Hepper; proceeds are donated to the library’s cultural program.
Fri. 6, Sat. 7 & Sun. 8: NATALE PER FILE. Palazzo Corsini, Lungarno Corsini 8. 10 am – 7 pm.
Organization in charge: FILE (The Italian Foundation of Lenitherapy)
Cause: providing free care to terminally individuals and their families
Details: articles for sale include clothing, accessories, designer items, household linen, jewelry, and food. There will be 35 different exhibitors present at the market. There will be a vintage room, food and wine corner, and booths with selling products—including wine, olive oil and panettone Christmas bread— donated by local companies.
Fri. 6 (3:30 – 6:30 pm), Sat. 7 & Sun. 8 (10 am – 5 pm): RED CROSS CHRISTMAS MARKET. Borgo San Frediano 12.
Cause: Providing social support assistance to individuals residing in the city of Florence, with services including food distribution, clothing distribution, medication distribution, and opportunities for help additional needs.
Details: items for sale include clothing, accessories, and perfumes, all of which big companies and fashion brands have donated in support of the event. There will also be vintage items available. This event has been going on for the past 25 years.
Until Dec. 24 (daily): EMERGENCY CHRISTMAS SHOP. 10:30 am – 7:30 pm (until 1 pm on Dec. 24). Via Gioberti 61.
Cause: providing care at no cost to those who are either victims of poverty or war.
Details: Items for sale including handicrafts from the countries where the association works, stationery, jewelry, eco-friendly cosmetics, clothing, and accessories. An online shop is available online in addition to the physical market (shop.emergency.it). (Tessa Scharff)
