Alitalia to Leave Pisa Airport

Italy’s flagship airline, Alitalia, will suspend nearly all of its service from Pisa’s Galileo Galilei airport by the end of March.  Other carriers will take over the current Alitalia routes from Pisa to Catania, Tirana, Prague and Berlin.  Unaffected will be the current four daily Alitalia flights to and from Rome in addition to four weekly connections to Olbia in Sardinia between July and September; negotiations are presently taking place regarding the future of Alitalia’s Pisa- Moscow route.  To read more in Italian, visit Florence’s La Repubblica news site.
