Amici della Musica’s October Finale Chamber Concerts
Returning to Teatro della Pergola this Saturday, October 26, Amici della Musica has two exciting performances lined up. At 4 pm, Korean violinst Bomsori and Russian pianist Julia Okraushvili will performe a programme of Franck, Szymanowski, Beethoven and Wieniawski.
Bomsori, considered a treasure in her native country, boasts triumphs in some of the most prestigious international competitions, including Sibelius, The Queen Elisabeth Competition, Tchaikovsky, Wieniawski, the ARD music competition and the CMIM of Montreal. She has performed in Europe and Asia’s most prominent concerts including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Tchaikovsky Halls in Moscow and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, to name only a few.
Julia Okruashvili is a pianist born in Moscow who has won an array of competitions, such as the Maria Yudina International Competition in St. Petersburg, the Firkusny International Competition in Prague, the City of Pinerolo Competition, the Rosario Marciano International Competition in Vienna and the Maria Canals International Competition in Barcelona. She has been on stage in the United States, Europe and Russia and has been a soloist in the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nations and Hessisches Staatsorchester.
Another compelling show, which will appeal also to children, involves a percussionist group called Tetraktis, whose instruments are made solely of recycled material, with the goal of raising collective consciousness about society’s excess waste production. The concert is scheduled on October 27, at 7 pm, in Teatro Niccolini (via Ricasoli).
