C2 & C1 Bus Lines Reactivated

The C2 bus route

Next to the regular buses that run their courses throughout the city, Florence also has a mini-bus “bussini” service; the C-lines. As of last Monday, May 23, all four C-lines are in business again for the first time since spring 2020, providing an optimal way of getting around within the historical center of Florence.

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, bus line C4—formerly line D—kept running as the vehicles are slightly larger, providing the opportunity of quick travel. The C3 bus resumed service in December 2021 after a pause, whereas C1 was reactivated in April.

To complete the quartet, line C2 started again last Monday, May 23. The electric vehicles of the C2 will continue to do 200 daily rounds in the city.  After a two-year stop, reactivation of the line offers a convenient form of transportation, connecting the Porta al Prato area with Piazza Beccaria, passing by Piazza Signoria and the Santa Maria Novella train station.

The C2, which will run from 7 am to 8:30 pm Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 8:30 pm on Sunday has the following stops from the Stazione Leopolda towards piazza Beccaria: Il Prato, via degli Orti Oricellari, via Alamanni, via Panzani, via dei Pecori, Calimala, via dei Tavolini, via Ghibellina, via dei Macci, piazza Ghiberti, and via Leopardi; towards the Stazione Leopolda from Piazza Beccaria: via dell’Agnolo, via Verdi, via dell’Oriuolo, via del Proconsolo, via Porta Rossa, piazza della Repubblica, piazza dell’Olio, via Panzani, Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, via Benedetta, via Maso Finiguerra, Borgo Ognissanti and via Solferino.
