Children’s Designer Fashion at Pitti Bimbo 95

June 22 – 24, 2022: PITTI IMMAGINE BIMBO 95. Fortezza da Basso, V.le Filippo Strozzi, 1, Florence and other venues. Only open to press and buyers.

Pitti Immagine Bimbo centers on children’s closets during a three-day-long trade fair between June 22- 24, 2022 in its 95th edition. The Fortezza da Basso will once again host Pitti Bimbo after two editions at Stazione Leopolda, showcasing the newest in children’s wardrobes for the Spring/Summer 2023.  The event will offer a prominent international presence–both exhibitors and buyers–in addition to extensive list of special events in various venues.

A total of 194 brands will showcase their collections, with a 70% international presence. All brands will also appear on Pitti Connect digital platforms, allowing for a hybrid and technologically savvy experience. The leading labels of the event are Calvin Klein Jeans, Dixie Girl, Crocs, Dolce & Gabbana, and Tommy Hilfiger, among many others. A complete list of brands is available online.2

While the 95th edition is expanding its horizons, The Kid’s Lab!, an innovative showcase, remains a constant in the annual tradition. Brands in this section are youthful and progressive, representing personal style and embracing sustainability in their materials. Kid’s Lab brands include Apini Outfitter, Folpetto Swimwear, Minikid, and Poupette St Barth.

Keep up with this year’s extensive itinerary, exceptional events, and debuts, including:

  • Miss Blumarine; the debut of the new collection for the charming Italian little girl’s brand.
  • Dolce & Gabbana; participating and embodying Pitti Immagine’s theme, Pitti Island.
  • Atelier Molayem Kids; the debut of the new jewelry line solely dedicated to children.

Known for shying away from mainstream fashion is the iconic project known as The Apartment. The fashion-forward brands of this section include Anja Schwerbrock, Amiki Sleepwear, Amelie et Sophie, Atelier Molayem, Paade Mode, and Raspberry. The event will take place inside The Kid’s Lab!

Unique to this year’s itinerary is the “Pop-Ups” project, an event designed for the open-minded and to fulfill your curiosities. Tearing at the seams of tradition is the presence of trendsetting pop-ups that promote new ideas and merchandise.

In contrast to fast fashion, I WANT TO BE GREEN is a sustainable project that promotes eco-friendly and ethical clothing production.

Regarding sustainable style, the theme of the third Junior Summer Camp is entitled “Clean Clothes Campaign.” The camp caters to providing a training experience for children ages 8-12 at Villa Favard for a week (beginning July 4, 2022). Participating children will be able to learn about their carbon footprint and the effect it has on the fashion industry. Lessons and hands-on activities are scheduled to focus on the clothing production chain.

Online interactive events and updates have been available since May 18, 2022, on Pitti connect and their social media channels. In conjunction with the in-person presence, virtual options will offer the public live updates and content throughout the summer.

Similar to a magazine catalog, stylists have selected certain pieces from Bimbo’s leading brands for the digital showrooms. Some scheduled for Pitti Connect include:

  •     Walk Through by Maria Giulia Pieroni.
  •     Walk Through by Style Piccoli Magazine.

Have you ever wondered how your parents perceived your childhood tantrums and thoughts? Around Kids is a virtual experience designed to showcase how children act, their wardrobes, and their home life through their parent’s lenses.

Buyers for online and in-person stores explain their thought process while selecting styles and clients within the online event entitled Buyers Select.  (gioia guarino)
