Complimentary Tickets For Cathedral Concert by Paco Peña

Join in an evening of passion-fuelled music held in one of Italy’s most iconic landmarks, the Cathedral of Florence, which will host the world premiere of ‘Requiem for the Earth,’ featuring guest artist Paco Peña, a musical icon well known in the world of flamenco. The finale will feature a vibrant dance choreography.
The free performance will be held on Thursday, November 27 at 9:30 pm. The composition will be interpreted by Peña and 10 member ensemble of singers and musicians, who will be accompanied by the Florence Cathedral Choir and the Pueri Cantores Children’s Choir conducted by maestro Michele Manganelli.
Written in Spanish and Latin, ‘Requiem for the Earth’ draws lyrical inspiration from the evocative words of Homer, Lovelock and Bunyard, using poetry for an emotional reflection upon the current climate change crisis, with an appeal to take action to create an ecological sustainable environment.
Combined with the skill of legendary guitarist and composer Paco Peña, the evening serves to reflect upon humanity’s relationship with nature through the language of music and dance.
Paco Peña is famously recognised for his revolutionary interpretation of the flamenco genre – a hybrid of tradition and conventions of the contemporary music scene. This event is the fourth to be held at the venue, thanks to the support of Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, in collaboration with the production and creative vision of Musicus Concentus.
Admission is free for all, but as seat must be reserved at this link.
