‘Corri La Vita’ Run for Life 2026: A Complete Guide

Sunday 27: CORRI LA VITA RUN & WALK 2026.  Departs from Cascine Park at 9:15 am; arrives in Piazza della Signoria

Since 2003, Florence has been a host to the annual Corri La Vita (Run for Life), a major fundraising initiative to support breast cancer patients and raise awareness on early prevention of the disease. In the past, it has brought together thousands of people in an effort of communal solidarity. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, September 27, starting at 9:15 am from the Cascine Park at Viale Lincoln and concluding at 12:30pm in the city’s historic Piazza della Signoria.

All levels and ages are welcome, as participants have two route options this year: a longer one around 13 km and a shorter one about 6 km. Both routes will close at 12:30pm, but there is no pressure to run, as this community-based activity is open to anyone, whether you prefer to walk or run. The 6 km route is expected to be more leisurely, while the 13 km route is more of an athletic challenge.

Underlining the excitement for Corri La Vita is the announcement that Israeli and Yemeni singer Noa, artistic director of the Re-Imagine Peace Festival, will be participating in this year’s event. As well as being an award-winning artist who has released 15 albums that include six different languages, Noa is also a human-rights activist. Some of her greatest achievements include playing alongside Stevie Wonder, performing at the White House and Carnegie Hall, and receiving the Commander of Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

Online registration will continue until Sunday, September 27. In return for the required €10 minimum donation, participants will receive the signature Corri La Vita T-shirt in a stunning cyclamen pink, designed in collaboration with Ferragamo, one of the organization’s long-time partners. The T-shirt can be picked up in person at one of Florence’s distribution points or can be delivered free of charge to any address within Italy while supplies last. From September 25 to the 26, last-minute gazebos will be up from 10 am to 5 pm in Piazza della Repubblica. The same applies on the 27th, but from 8 am until departure at Piazza Vittorio Veneto.

Thanks to collaboration with Città Nascosta, supporters of Corri La Vita will also be given special access to historical Florentine sites. Those wearing the shirt or presenting its receipt, will be granted free entry to museums and exhibitions such as BROKEN Il potere del Frammento (BROKEN, the power of the fragment) at Palazzo Strozzi, Museo del Restauro with the Chapel of Palazzo Ridolfi, the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, and the Museo della Misericordia. This perk even extends outside of Florence to the Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art in Prato and the Straw Museum in Signa. The number of museums and cultural destinations accessible from the race depends on which route you decide to take and can be found under the “Cultural Itineraries and Destinations” tab on the Corri La Vita website.

One of the mentioned exhibitions, “Broken. The Power of the Fragment” at Palazzo Strozzi, is included in the donation for the run and is only here until January 24th, 2027. This exhibition includes pieces from ancient Egypt, Greece, Cambodia and ranges from antiques to contemporary art. Entering this exhibition takes you on an adventure through pieces from artists such as Michelangelo, Dahn Vo, Giovanni Pisano, and many more.

When it comes to who can join, minors may only be registered by adults, and dogs are allowed if the owner confirms they will not obstruct or disturb any part of the event, including participants and staff. Bringing a dog may limit your access to venues, as it is at the discretion of the venue manager or owner whether they allow pets. If you have a large group, you may call ahead for the shirts and have a chance at being the top three large groups that win a prize.

The same weekend as the run, September 25 to 27, the organization will be hosting Il Villaggio della Salute (The Health Village) in Piazza della Repubblica from 10 am to 5 pm. Themed around preventative care and wellness, the event will offer free physician consultations and cancer screenings at the ISPRO mobile unit when booked ahead on ISPRO’s website. In Piazza della Signoria, there will also be the opportunity to make an appointment for free melanoma screenings at the mobile clinic operated by LILT Firenze.

Special talks on the Mediterranean diet will also be available, followed by an olive oil tasting by Carapelli Firenze. These premium 750 ml olive oil bottles will be available through donation with their own label for Corri La Vita. Carapelli Firenze will be located in its own corner, and all proceeds from the olive oil sales will go to the association.  (Jessica Porter/additional reporting by Francesca Negri)
