December ATAF Bus Strike

Drivers and employees of Florence’s ATAF city bus service have announced that they will be striking on Saturday, December 15; as a consequence, bus service will not be available to the public between 6 and 10 pm. The Cgil, Cisl, Uil, Faisa e Cobas unions are all supporting the strike.

What has prompted the action is that the city and ATAF have failed to reach an agreement on working conditions. Security on board is also another issue, despite the fact that Mayor Nardella has recently announced that, starting in 2019 newly-hired traffic police will ride city buses to ensure order and safety.
