Decorating Eggs & More at the Children’s Lending Library Easter Party

The Children’s Lending Library decorated for the Easter party

Saturday, April 1: Children’s Lending Library’s Easter Party. Undercroft of the church of St. James, via Rucellai 9, Florence. 4 – 6 pm. Entrance: €3 per family (Library members): €5 per family (non-Library members). All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Children’s Lending Library’s spring fundraiser will spotlight an iconic Easter tradition in English-speaking countries: decorating Easter eggs. Kids should bring their own medium-sized hard-boiled eggs, preferably white. Extra hard-boiled eggs will be on sale during the event.

Children can listen to stories read aloud in English and can participate in crafts and games. Homemade American baked goods and other refreshments will be available. Used books and toys will be sold as well.

The best-known reading center for bilingual kids in Florence, the Children’s Lending Library offers picture books, nonfiction, and junior fiction, among others, all in English. Nestled below the American Church between the train station and Porta a Prato, the library contains 1,000 volumes. Volunteers organize readings and activities such as drawing and dramatizations.
