€1 Florence Museum Ticket for ‘European Heritage Day’

This coming Saturday and Sunday, residents and tourists in Florence are welcome at the event ‘European Heritage Days.’ A series of thematic tours and free and nearly free admission along with special initiatives is scheduled in all state run museums and other public spaces in the city.

Promoted yearly by the European Council and the European Commission since 1991, this year’s theme is ‘culture and nature.’  It will attempt to encourage people to visit as many historical and important buildings as possible, some of which are not usually open.

The public will be able to visit following state-run museums at the price of €1 from 7 – 11 pm, some with free visits offered by guides on Saturday &/or Sunday.

Uffizi Gallery. Open from 7 – 10 pm on Saturday with an entry price of €1, (Piazzale degli Uffizi, 6) with free, guided tours.

Galleria dell’Accademia. Free, guided tours on Saturday from  7 – 10 pm, (via Ricasoli, 58/60.)

San Marco Museum. Free concert, (Piazza San Marco, 3.)

Bargello National Museum, (via del Proconsolo, 4) & Medici Chapels, (Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini, 6.)

National Archeological Museum. Open from 8 – 11 pm on Saturday for €1 per person, (Piazza Santissima Annunziata, 9b.)

FREE ENTRANCE

Casa Martelli. Open Saturday from 1:50 – 5:50 pm and Sunday from 3 – 6:50 pm. (via Ferdinando Zannetti, 8.)

Orsanmichele.  Saturday from 10 am – 12:20 pm, (via dell’Arte della Lana.)

Organissanti Church Refectory.  Sunday at 9 am – 1 pm with guided visits, (via Borgo Ognissanti, 42.)

Chiostro (Cloister) dello Scalzo.  Saturday morning from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, (via Camillo Cavour, 69.)

Park of Villa il Ventaglio. Free guided visits on Saturday and Sunday from 2 – 6 pm, (via Giovanni Aldini, 12.)

Medici Villa La Petraia. Free guided tour on Saturday evening, 7 – 10 pm, (via della Petraia, 40.)

Refectory of Organissanti. Sunday at 9 am – 1 pm with free, guided visits, (via Borgo Ognissanti, 42.)

Medici Villa La Petraia. Free guided tour on Saturday evening, 7 – 10 pm, (via della Petraia, 40.)

Medici Villa di Cerreto Guidi. Open all day until 10 pm on Saturday with free talks, (via Ponti Medicei, 12.)

Pratolino Park. Free guided tours available on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am or 4 pm, (via fiorentina, 276.)

Garden of Villa di Castello. Open on Sunday afternoon from 1 – 5 pm for free, (Via di Castello, 47.)
