Fall Plant and Flower Show & Pottery Fair
Sat. 2 – Sun. 3: FIERA DELLA CERAMICA. Ceramics and organic market. Piazza Santa Croce. 9 am – 7 pm.
The event is part of an expanded monthly “Fierucola” market where Tuscan farmers normally display and sell their seasonal organic products, including dairy cheeses and home baked breads.
Along with bounty for the table, the October fair offers visitors handcrafted works made by ceramic artists from all around the Europe. Their creations include plates, vases, mugs, teapots, design objects for the home, jewelry, and other decorative items.
Various workshops, including access to potter’s wheel, clay manipulation and modeling will give an opportunity for visitors to learn how to create their DIY pottery under the supervision of master potters for free. Children are invited to mold clay to create their own unique works.
A program of entertainment is also scheduled at the weekend fair in Piazza Santa Croce.
Sat. 2 – Sun. 3, Mon. 4: AUTUMN PLANT & FLOWER MARKET. Giardino dell’Orticoltura, via Vittorio Emanuele II 4. Open daily 9 am – 7 pm. Free admission. Face mask required, Green Pass not as the event is outdoors.
This is an opportunity to plan next season’s garden. Held in the park of the Giardino dell’Orticoltura, a setting dominated by a 19th century greenhouse, nursery owners will be exhibiting perennials, vases, seeds and bulbs, all of which can be purchased and taken home, even for the balcony or larger terrace.
