Ferragosto, an official holiday in all of Italy, is celebrated in honor of the Assumption of Mary on August 15. While most of the locals leave Florence, exhibitions, outdoor events, museum openings and dining await those still in town.

The “Tuttoposto a Ferragosto” is an exciting (plus free) festival, offering a series of musical events featuring a diverse range of music artists from jazz musicians and blues artists to traditional Cuban singers. Each performance begins at 8:30 pm at the Giardino dell’Artecultura, best known as a summer spot for hosting artistic and cultural events.

Surrounded by numerous trees, the space feels ten degrees cooler than anywhere in Florence, which makes it a great summer escape.  While not a vibrant late-night destination, the Giardino is perfectly suitable as a location to socialize, relax and beat the heat.  Located at Via Vittorio Emanuele II, 4, the garden is open between May and August from 9 am to 12 midnight.

In the 10th edition, the venue will host a special series of musical events held through August 22. Below is the program in detail.
