Florence 2024 Holiday Happenings for the Entire Family

Florence will be decked out with Christmas trees and lights through January 6.  This period also coincides with school vacation and the city offers festive activities during this period for the young and young at heart, perfectly complementing the magical winter atmosphere.

One of the most exciting attractions is the Ferris Wheel, known as Florence’s Eye. It will be located in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, at the entrance to the Cascine Park, from December 1 to March 31. Operating hours will be from 10 am to midnight. Tickets can be purchased on the website: https://florenceeye.com/it/. The prices are: 

  • Regular ticket: €12.00
  • Reduced ticket (children under 10 years old): €7.00 (free for children under 2 years old)
  • Residents of the Municipality of Florence: €10.00
  • Free entry: for disabled visitors and their companions
  • Family package: 2 adults and 2 children (reduced): €34.00
  • Family package: 2 adults and 1 child (reduced): €28.00
  • School offer (weekdays, mornings until 2:00 p.m.): Students: €5.00, Teachers: Free (1 teacher per class group).

Along with the Ferris Wheel, there will be an Ice Skating Rink covering over 1,300 square meters, making it the longest one in Italy. It will be also open from 10 am to midnight. Ticket prices are (with cloakroom included):

  • Reduced ticket (under 10 years old): €10.00
  • Family package: 2 adults and 2 children (reduced): €40.00
  • Bear-shaped skating tutor: €5.00
  • Skate rental: €2.00

Piazza Vittorio Veneto, where Ferris Wheel and ice skating rink are located, features also additional activities, such as themed shows for children and families. While the Ferris Wheel remain in place until the end of March, the ice skating rink will be accessible through January 20. The area will then become a venue filled with cultural and entertainment events, small shows, and markets offering Tuscan products, food, and crafts. (Paulina Juzak)
