Florence Holy Week Church Services in English 2026

Florence has various options for worship in English during Holy Week and Easter Sunday.

All faiths are invited to Saint Mark’s Anglican Church on via Maggio 16, across from Ponte Santa Trinita. April 2 is Maundy Thursday, and at 7 pm the church will offer Holy Eucharist. On Good Friday, April 3, from 12 noon to 3 pm there will be Three Hours at the Cross. The first two hours will be for quiet prayer and reflection and the last hour from 2 to 3 pm will be for reflections, music, prayer, and silence. On Easter Sunday, from 10.30 – 11.30 am there will be a Choral Eucharist, followed by refreshments after the service. 

Santi Apostoli is a Catholic church in Florence located at Piazza Limbo 1 that provides a variety of church services in English. On Holy Thursday, the Mass of the Lord’s Supper will take place in English, at 6 pm. On Good Friday, April 3, the church will hold a Celebration of Passion in English at 6 pm. An English Vigil Mass, in Italian and English, will be held at 10 pm on Holy Saturday, April 5. On Easter Sunday, Santi Apostoli will hold an English mass at 10:15 am.

More worship in English is offered at St. James American Church located at Via Rucellai 9, near the Santa Maria Novella train station. On Maundy Thursday, April 2, the church will have a service at 7 pm. The following day on Good Friday the church will host two services, one at noon and the other at 7 pm. Holy Saturday, the 5 April, the church offers a service at 7 pm. On Easter Sunday there will be an 11 am Eucharist followed by an Easter egg hunt. St. James is an Episcopal church, but all faiths are welcome.
