Florence Traffic Tickets Now Online

Beginning in July, Florence and the rest of Italy is making the switch to the notification and payment of traffic tickets online. Thanks to PagoPa, the new digital platform for the public administration, the pink slip left on car windshields signaling a fine, with details of the amount and whether given for a moving or parking violation, will become extinct by the end of 2020.

A notice will still be placed on the vehicle, providing instructions on how to link to PagoPa platform, where each user will given a specific identification code to proceed with payment according to the information on the electronic ticket. A notice will also be sent to a person’s home, providing the access codes for payment according to various due dates: settling the fine within five days grants a 30% discount; within 30 days the full amount charged must be paid.  All transactions must take place via the Internet.

Since the PagoPa website is not yet launched, the municipality of Florence has decided to suspend the issue of notices on vehicles in the absence of the offender until further notice.
