Florence’s Ultimate Thanksgiving Guide 2024
It’s rare to hear American residents of Florence say they miss home, but as the weather gets colder, and Thanksgiving is around the corner, it won’t be a surprise that some Americans may be in search of some extra comfort. One thing they can be grateful for is that Florence actually has many places to satisfy the Thanksgiving craving this week. Various establishments will offer a range of options, from more classic American menu items to traditional meals with an Italian twist, both dine and take out. Keep in mind that the prices stated do not include beverages, unless otherwise noted. Many require advanced reservations or pre-orders, so continue reading below to start planning your celebration!!

Pino’s is bringing back their Thanksgiving special, only available on Thursday, November 28 from 9 am – 9 pm! Both the plated meal and the sandwich specials include turkey breast, chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes, and a green bean casserole with creamy onion sauce. The panini are toasted and also include brie cheese.

If you want more dates to choose from, Ristorante Accademia is offering their Thanksgiving menu on both Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th! The meal includes a pumpkin soup with cornbread; turkey with stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce; mashed potatoes and creamed corn; and apple strudel, pumpkin pie, or pecan pie. Be sure to reserve early to ensure you have a table!
If you are not able to make it on Thursday or Friday, Ristorante Accademia is offering the whole meal again on Saturday, November 30th for half off (€22.50).

Thinking of something that might be a bit more familiar to the United States? Check out Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday, November 28th from 12 noon until 11:30 pm. And if you happen to arrive at 9 pm or later, you can see the Tennessee Rose Blues Band! The main meal includes: slow-roasted turkey breast; roasted fresh vegetables; home-style classic stuffing; creamy sweet potato mash; and cranberry sauce finished with a traditional turkey gravy. For dessert, you will get a slice of pumpkin pie topped with caramel sauce and house-made whipped cream.

This year, Finisterrae is offering a Thanksgiving dinner menu for the first time, exclusively on the evening of Thursday, November 28. The menu includes risotto with roasted butternut squash, ricotta cheese drops, and crispy bacon; roast turkey with stuffing and gravy; mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, and sprouts; and apple and cinnamon crumble with whipped vanilla cream.

Djaria is offering a Thanksgiving course on Thursday, November 28 from both 7 – 9 pm and 9 pm-closing. The menu is made up of: roasted turkey and cranberry sauce; celery and herb stuffing; your choice of mashed potatoes and gravy or sweet potato casserole with marshmallows; green bean casserole with crispy onions; old fashioned cornbread; and your choice of apple pie, pumpkin pie, or cheesecake. Water and American coffee refills are also included in the cost.
Be sure to make a reservation in advance using the contact information above. Additionally, up to a week ahead of time, you can also order your meal for takeaway to enjoy in the comfort of your own home!

Another restaurant to consider is Francesco Vini. This Florentine husband, Fabio La Brusco, and his American wife, Jody Levinson, have created a classic Thanksgiving dinner, with recipes from her family in Florida. Francesco Vini will be offering the same popular menu from last year, comprising pumpkin soup with shrimp wrapped in lard; traditional turkey with cranberry sauce, sausage/artichoke stuffing, and gravy. Sides consists of truffle mashed potatoes, green beans, roasted sweet potatoes, and corn on the cob. Dessert: apple pie à la mode served warm with cinnamon gelato. The à la carte menu of Tuscan specialities will also be available for Italian guests who wish to accompany their American friends and prefer to stick to local cuisine. Reservations are not required, but are highly recommended.
Melaleuca

On Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28th), Melaleuca is offering a few different options that you can choose from to celebrate the holiday! For a dine-in dinner experience, the menu consists of radicchio, fennel, pickled apples, and halloumi crouton appetizer; turkey with bone broth gravy; sourdough and sage stuffing; sweet potato crumble; wild-picked, organic cranberry sauce; house milk rolls with honey butter; and a slice of pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, or key lime pie (whole pies available upon request). The cost for this meal also includes a complimentary glass of prosecco for all dine-in guests!
If you are looking for a quicker and more budget-friendly option, Melaleuca offers a Thanksgiving Express lunch for €30. It includes all of the items from the menu for the dinner option with the expectation of pie, prosecco, and salad. Lastly, you can preorder pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, and key lime pie for €25; apple pie and pecan pie for €35; and wild-foraged organic cranberry sauce for €10 a jar.

Executive Chef Paolo Lavezzini has created an a’ la carte Thanksgiving menu available at the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, available exclusively on Thursday, November 28th! You can order items off the menu at the Il Palagio 1 Michelin Restaurant or at the Atrium Bar and Lounge (both are located inside of the Four Seasons). The options on the menu are as follows: Sautéed Brussel Sprouts with Garlic Butter, Bacon, and Almonds for €27; Spider Crab Mac and Cheese for €44; Turkey Roulade with Apples and Chestnuts, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Black Kale, and Cranberry Sauce for €46; and Pumpkin and Pecan Pie for €22.
L’Osteria di Giovanni

A simply delicious menu is provided by L’Osteria di Giovanni. Dinner includes a house aperitivo, and an antipasto frisée salad, endive and lettuce with pomegranate and pistachio, dressed with citrus vinaigrette. This will be followed by onion soup and pumpkin risotto with taleggio cheese and walnuts. For the main dish, the chefs are cooking a roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, sweet potato purée, and string beans. There is also a choice of dessert: either a slice of pumpkin pie, cheesecake or Black Forest cake. The cost also includes water, house wine, and coffee. Reservations are highly recommended, as most of the spots for this dinner are already full.

The Dolce Vita Experience is back on Thursday, November 28th! This American Thanksgiving Pop-Up is perfect for those who want to eat their Thanksgiving meal at home without the hassle of cooking! The pop-up is Gastronomia Artigianale and located at Beast Gallery. The menu offers a variety of different options for you to choose from, including to-go meal sets for 4-6 people or 8-12 people, whole pies, individual turkeys, and side dishes. The 4-6 person takeaway meal set costs €102 and is made up of half a 24 brined herb-butter turkey, chive mashed potatoes, cornbread sausage stuffing, and graving. The 8-12 person takeaway meal set costs €230 and includes a whole 24 hour brined herb-butter turkey, chive mashed potatoes, cornbread sausage stuffing, gravy, and pumpkin pie.
You can get a pumpkin pie individually for €28 or a pecan pie for €35. If you want to purchase a turkey individually, you can choose from either a half-turkey for €60 (serves up to six people) or a full-turkey for €120 (serves up to twelve people). Sides options can be purchased to serve 4-6 people or 8-12 people and include chive mashed potatoes and gravy; sausage and cornbread stuffing; sweet potatoes, brown sugar, and crispy pecans; green beans, creamy mushrooms, and crispy onions; and cranberry sauce (see the website for more details on specific pricing of these).
Orders can be placed anytime between now and November 22nd and will be available for pick-up on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28th)! You can place an order online at thedvthanksgiving.com.
If you are not available on November 28, you can still take part in the Dolce Vita Experience with the TG Turkey Schiacciata Pop-Up located at Degus! This event takes place from 12 noon – 6 pm on both Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30. The menu will consist of two potential options: (both are €10 each) a sandwich with turkey, blueberry/white pepper sauce, and broccoli rabe or a sandwich with turkey, cranberry sauce, caramelized onions, and scamorza (a smoked cheese from Italy). This event is designed to be a more open and flexible option, with no pre order needed (sandwiches will be available until they sell out).
Illena Collado, who is the face behind the Dolce Vita Experience, said her choices for the menu were inspired by her love for American Thanksgiving and Italian seasonal flavors, so make sure you get to experience it for yourself!

If you already have your own plans for the main Thanksgiving meal but are just in need of dessert, be sure to check out Vanilla Cake Bakery for their limited-time specials! Options include pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, and pumpkin bread, in addition to the all new three layer pumpkin cake with cream cheese filling/frosting! Aside from the pumpkin bread which is one-size only, all of the other desserts can be ordered in four different sizes! The small size serves 1-2 people, the medium size serves 6 people, the large serves 8-10 people, and the extra-large serves 12 or more people. For the pecan pie, pricing starts at €8 for a small.
