Former Calza Convent Fined, Not Closed

Built as a stop-off and/or lodging for the for pilgrims on their way to Rome in the 14th century, later inhabited by a members of a religious order, the owners of the former Calza complex, who acquired it before Covid, has received three times fines for over 4,000 euros. The building received authorization to host a spa, but has illegally opened a hotel and restaurant on the premises.
There is a Last Supper by Franciabigo (1484 – 1585) in the refectory.
Booking.com removed the listing from its website, although the structure continues to advertise its service online.
