Free Guided Tours in English of Florence Landmarks

The medieval walls of Florence on the south side of the Arno

Free guided cultural heritage tours, also in English, around Florence’s historic centre are back starting October 5. Thanks to the UNESCO and Florence World Heritage Office, there will be Passeggiate Patrimoniali tours every weekend of October. The tours will centre around San Miniato al Monte, Porta San Gallo (the historic city gate located in Piazza della Libertà) and along the ancient walls of the city. These walks are a fantastic way to familiarise yourself with Florence’s rich history and admire the mediaeval gates, walls, towers, and fortifications that feature throughout the city.

The meeting point for the Porta San Gallo walk is at via Guelfa 12, in front of the Seven Day Adventist Church; Porta San Giorgio on via San Leonardo for the medieval walls itinerary and the San Niccolò tower, piazza Poggi, for the San Miniato walk.

The English tours are on the following dates:

October 6 at 11 am up to San Miniato

October 13 at 11 am around Porta San Gallo

October 20 at 11 am along the medieval walls

October 27 at 11 am up to San Miniato

The walks are completely free of charge, just wear comfortable clothing and footwear and pack a water bottle. The tours last approx. 2 hours. For information and reservations: info@musefirenze.it or by calling 055/2768224.
