Grey’s Anatomy Star Robbed in Florence

While having lunch with her family on May 25, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo’s leisurely meal of pasta and rosé was ruined when her purse was stolen at a restaurant close to Florence’s Piazza Signoria. Known as Dr. Meredith Grey in the award-winning medical drama, Pompeo took to social media to express her anger towards the thief in a one-third English, one-third Spanish, and one-third Italian caption posted on her recent tongue-in-cheek Instagram post. “I blame the rosé,” the actress wrote.

In a goulash of languages, she continued, “I was tracking my phone chasing you down… had I caught you…it would not have ended well for you.. I am nice but lets not forget my heritage…NAPOLITANO… hai furtuno y io hai destine,” she wrote.  The ABC star also warned the thief, who remains at large, in Italian, “Sarai catturato” (you will be captured).

The actress discovered the robbery when it was time to pay the bill. Fortunately, the police found the purse along the Arno River near Ponte Vecchio.  Pompeo’s makeup and cell phone were found intact while only the cash was stolen.  Grey’s Anatomy co-star Giacomo Gianotti, who is Dr. Andrew De Luca in the series, joked on social media that he would find the bully in July and hopefully refund the millionaire’s lunch money.

The incident is being investigated by the police, and surveillance cameras in the square are being examined by agents.

Grey’s Anatomy is going into its 14th season on TV.
