‘Il Gusto Toscano’: Free Tastings & Food Market
The Conventino complex, via Giana della Bella 20, is hosting Tuscan farmers and local producers for a fall showcase of food, wine and spirits on November 9 (11 am – 9 pm) and 10 (11 am – 8 pm).
Visitors are invited to sample cheeses, cured meat, breads, preserves, honey, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, craft beers, wine and spirits in addition to desserts and chocolates, which are also for sale. The event also represents an opportunity to talk to the producers.
A talk focusing on “What Do Young People Drink?” will take place on Saturday at 11:30 am, followed by a lecture on “Discovering Tuscany’s Pino Nero Grape and Wine” (12 noon, Sala Artex), and the day will end with a live jazz concert (7:30 pm). On Sunday, talks include: “The Characteristics of Quality Honey” (11:30 am); “The Secrets of Chocolate” (3:30 pm), both held in the Sala Ceranmica; and “Dessert Wines from Vermouth to Spirits,” (5:30 pm, Sala Artex).
