June 24 Beverages & Alcohol Ban

The June 24 San Giovanni fireworks display during which drinking is prohibited

In view of the Calcio Storico final match on June 24 in Piazza Santa Croce at 6 pm, the city of Florence has issued an ordinance banning the sale of alcoholic drinks and other types of beverages — whether in bottles or cups — from 3 to 9 pm by businesses located on streets in and around pizza Santa Croce.

The same ban will be in effect on the streets along the Arno from 6 pm to midnight during preparations and the actual San Giovanni fireworks display.
