Late Night Culture Clash

During the early hours of the morning, a fight between a group of Americans and a group of Italians left a 21-year old American with an ear injury. About 15 young men were involved, but all except the injured American and two friends who were helping him fled when the ambulance arrived.

The first call to the police was made by a bouncer at the nearby club where the both groups had been spending their night. Around 3:30 am, the group of Americans left the club and met their Italian foes in the Piazza Davanzati and the brawl ensued from there.

Police Chief Alberto Intini, issued a 10-day closure of Yab’s operations for failure to notify authorities in combination with the violent episodes which have occurred at there in the past year.

The source of the dispute on the dancefloor that led to the first punch is unknown, but it was a total riot, complete with using belts as weapons, a trip to Careggi hospital, and license suspension for the club, Yab.
