Netflix Production Filming in Florence

“Six Underground” produced by Netflix, is currently filming on location in downtown Florence  — specifically in Santa Croce, Piazza San Firenze, the Uffizi, the lungarni (roads along the Arno River), viale Poggi, Piazza Santissima Annunizata and the Duomo — through August 31.  The cameramen and actors will move to piazza Pitti and piazza della Repubblica on September 3; and starting on September 10, scenes will be shot in Santa Croce and the Uffizi as well at San Lorenzo, Piazza Santa Maria Novella, via Tornabuoni and the Accademia.

On August 22, a stuntman was injured (not seriously) during the filming of a car crash in front of the Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library) in piazza Cavalleggeri. Buses, such as the #11, have been rerouted and will continue to be rerouted in late August and through September according to the filming location.

Production, makeup and wardrobe trailers will be parked in piazza Ognissanti, piazzale Vittorio Veneto and Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia through September 22.

The stars of “Six Underground” include Ryan Reynolds, Mélanie Laurent, Dave Franco and Ben Hardy.  Reynolds is also known as superstar Scarlett Johansson’s ex-husband; he is now married to actress Blake Lively.
