New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Florence, 2025

The countdown in the city of the Renaissance will be shortly before midnight in Piazza della Signoria, accompanied by a spectacular light show and video mapping projected on landmarks. The New Year will also be heralded with fireworks over the Arno River near Ponte Vecchio.
Prior, in the spirit of tradition but with a contemporary twist, the streets and squares of Florence will host free concerts in a variety of genres this New Year’s Eve. The sparkling night will showcase the talents of famous Italian pop artists. Jazz, soul and gospel will also resound in locations around the city, which will be illuminated by holiday lights.
Unlike other years when Piazzale Michelangelo was the protagonist, the main stage will be Piazza Santa Croce. Starting at 9 pm and ending at 1 pm, a DJ set will be followed by performances by Paola Iezzi, Tiromancino — with lead singer Federico Zampiglione — Franco126 and Sarafine. Paola Iezzi, who has a career as a soloist and as the brunette member of a duo with her sister Chiara Iezzi, reached superstardom with “Amici come prima” (presented at the San Remo Music Festival) and “Vamos a Bailer.” Franco126 is an up-and-coming indie singer/songwriter while Sarafine is known for her original mix of trap, techno and pop.
Another venue, Piazza Santissima Annunziata, will be the setting for the”Gospel Symphony: Firenze Sings the New Year” from 10:30 pm to 1 am, featuring the Pilgrims Gospel Choir and the Light Gospel Choir accompanied by the Florence Chamber Orchestra. The Renaissance architecture will be the backdrop for a mix of energetic a cappella singing, traditional gospel and modern reinterpretations.
Concurrently, guests can enjoy the sounds of jazz, swing and be bop in Piazza del Carmine, where the headliner will be Fabrizio Bosso, considered the best Italian jazz trumpet player today. Backed up by group Nico Gori Young Lions, in addition to repertoire pieces, the musicians will also interpret original compositions and Brazilian rhythms.
