Picasso Family Buy Florence Property

The descendants of legendary painter Pablo Picasso have recently purchased a villa in Florence. The property, a former convent located in the Oltrarno neighborhood on Via di San Niccolo, was reportedly sold for over €7 million.

The 600-square-meter residence features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and, most notably, the second-largest private garden within the city. This green space is only surpassed by the Four Seasons Hotel, whose gardens span 11-acres. The property spans over two floors, connected by a private elevator, and also features a restored medieval tower.

The sale was brokered and announced by the one of the most prominent Florentine luxury consulting and brokerage firms Dreamer Real Estate, who handled the transaction. This purchase coincides with the recent trend of foreign investors, particularly Americans, British, French and Germans, purchasing property in and around Florence. Purchases by foreigners account for 40% of Dreamer Real Estate’s transactions. (Caroline Woodward)
