Pino’s ‘Sand-witch’ Halloween special

The Salumeria Verdi deli (Via Giuseppe Verdi 36), or Pino’s Sandwiches as it is known by its many loyal customers, will celebrate Halloween this year with panino specials, discounts and a giveaway!

The deli is getting into the spirit of Halloween with the addition of two specially-created sandwiches to its menu for the day on Tuesday, October 31. The limited-time “Sand-witch” includes spicy pumpkin sauce, roast pork, smoked cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic sauce. Its spooky counterpart, “Vam-pino’s Sandwich,” combines spicy pumpkin sauce, ricotta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, peppers, onions and garlic sauce.

Magenta Florence will also offer a Pino’s Sandwich sweepstakes for new social media followers. Contestants must like and share the Magenta Florence Facebook page to be entered in the drawing pool. Three lucky winners will be randomly selected to receive a free Sand-witch or Vam-pino’s panino. The contest will begin at midnight on October 30 and end at 12 noon on November 1, and the winners will be announced Thursday, November 2. In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere; food is lovingly prepared and served by its proprietors, Pino Palmiero, his wife Antonella and daughter Martina, who created the Halloween specials.  (leigh van ryn)
