The 2026 Firenze Jazz Festival’s Exciting Rhythms

Saturday, 5 – Sunday, 13, 2026: FIRENZE JAZZ FESTIVAL.  Florence, various locations.

The Firenze Jazz Festival is back for its 10th edition and this time, the organizers have found a spectacular venue. The festival’s main stage will be set up in the Giardino delle Scuderie Reali, the garden of the Royal Stables complex located at Piazzale Porta Romana 9. The site has a rich history behind it—these same grounds were once developed during the years that Florence served as Italy’s capital, and the neighborhing complex formerly housed the horses, carriages, and even the staff of the Pitti Palace itself. This space was made available through a partnership with the Uffizi Galleries.

The main stage programming runs from September 11 to 13, 2026. Be prepared—the invited musicians will span a wide range of genres. From reggae artist Alborosie, who will perform with the Shengen Clan, to Casino Royale, who will bring a playlist from the “Sempre più vicini Reloaded” tour, plus C’mon Tigre and the “Lumina” project, there will never be a dull moment. DJ Gruff, Pellegrino, Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld, Altea, and Meraz will also headline. Guests will be able to experience a unique mix of reggae, hip hop, electronica, avant-garde, and of course, jazz.

The broader festival includes the following locations: Villa Bardini (which hosts a set by Fabrizio Bosso and Julian Oliver Mazzariello on Saturday, September 5 at 7 pm and another with drummer Roberto Gatto alongside Francesco Maccianti on the double bass and Ares Tavolazzi on the piano on Sunday, September 6 at 7 pm); in addition to Forte Belvedere, Rifrullo on via San Niccolò, and Il Conventino Literary Café, via Giana della Bella; along with a few outdoor spots and even a campsite. A number of events are also free for the general public to attend.

One free performance features Italian ensemble ‘Accordi e Disaccordi’ (pictured) on Tuesday, September 8 at Piazzale Michelangelo, 9:30 pm.  The band comprises Alessandro Di Virgilio and Dario Berlucchi on the electric guitars alongside Dario Scopesi on the double bass and synthesizer.  Their creative repertoire blends gypsy jazz with Mediterrean and Latin rhythms in addition to a touch of rock.  Another concert with complimentary admission showcases the talent of ‘Free Shots,’ from Genoa specialized in mixing a multitude of musical genres (Wednesday, September 9, Forte Belvedere starting at 7:30 pm).  The group’s electroswing reinterpretation of ‘Dance Monkey’ went viral internationally, in addition to their new version of the iconic theme from ‘The Godfather,’ which exceeded 1,5 million streams worldwide.  (H.R.D./additional reporting by Rosanna Cirigliano)
