To promote a marathon without barriers, this year’s edition also features MaratonAbile (starting point:  Piazzale Gui at the Teatro del Maggio), an initiative that allows for a reimbursement of the entry fee to all handcycle participants who finish the race.

A day earlier, the Ginky Family Run, also taking place in Cascine park on Nov. 27 (starting point Piazzale Gui at the Teatro del Maggio, 9 am), is an event devoted to children. The goal is to unite younger and older generations through sport and involve as many people in the city as possible. The registration fee is free for children under 14 and €10 for adults.  (beatrice paoletti/additional reporting by nelson matos)
