Two Free Church Concerts Featuring Classical and Jazz

Two free concerts will be held at the basilica of Santa Croce and at the Opera del Duomo in central Florence on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 12.
At 8:30 pm on Wednesday, June 4, the Florence Chamber Orchestra and the American Coral Ensemble will be performing a classical and gospel concert at the Basilica of Santa Croce. Admission is free but tickets must be booked ahead through their website, www.santacroceopera.it.
The concert is the fifth iteration of Florence’s Great American Choral Series and will be conducted by Cailin Marcel Manson, Linda Mack Berven and Clark Wayman Joseph, with music by W.A. Mozart, A. Vivaldi, T. Massie, C. Joseph, M. Williams and J. Bignon.
On Thursday, June 12, Israeli jazz pianist Shai Maestro will be performing at the Opera del Duomo. The concert will start at 9:15pm and will showcase songs from the pianist’s new album Solo: Miniatures & Tales.

This concert is the 6th iteration of the Poeti del Piano Solo, a festival dedicated to the beauty and purity of the piano. The evening has been made possible thanks to the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore and is organised by Musicus Concentus, in collaboration with the Something Like This Association.
