Florence’s ‘Animal Park’ for Vacationers

Sometimes our canine pals cannot come with us on our summer vacation, but to avoid them being left back uncared for or abandoned, owners can bring them to Florence’s Animal Park (Parco degli Animali). Located in Ugnano neighborhood (Via Pantanino 11), the shelter provides dogs with attention and exceptional care. Important to the community, the sanctuary respects the rights of animals, striving to reverse the epidemic of neglect and abuse.

Alessia Bettini, commissioner of the facility, the community values that it be an open park, and serve a purpose more than just a traditional kennel. Payment for services is flexible, based on Isee categories. This means that depending on the annual income of the owners, that determines how much they will pay. Costs range from €5 – 15 per day. Additional costs are counted separately if needed.

The Animal Park is open Monday to Saturday 9 am – 1 pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays also in the afternoon from 3 – 5 pm in the afternoon. To contact the shelter, call 055 7352018 or email adozioni.animali@comune.fi.it. For more information visit their Facebook page or the website of the Florence municipality.
