A New Face for the Marco Polo Institute

On the exterior walls of the Marco Polo Institute (via di S. Bartolo a Cintoia, 19/a), one of the largest murals has been painted by artists Nico Lopez Bruchi and Umberto Stalia along with some of the students. The institute, which specializes in the study of tourism, has chosen the theme of ‘journey.’ The adventurous and inspiring message has been conveyed with portrayals of aviators, ships and compasses. Beside the depictions of Ulysses and galaxies, is a quote by politician Antonio Gramsci which reads, “Educate yourself because we will all need your intelligence. Be excited, because we will all need your enthusiasm.” The purpose of the mural serves to stimulate academic excellence and personal growth.
