A Race for a Cause: ‘Run for Michela’

Interested in running for a great cause? Sign up for the Run for Michela event on May 13. This non-competitive 7km (4.5mi) run and 5km (3.1mi) walk will begin at 9:30 am from the Michela Noli Garden on Via Torcicoda, located in the neighborhood where she lived.

The race’s goal is to remember the life of Michela Noli, a victim of femicide in 2016, and to raise awareness about the violence against women and children. Michela’s mother Paola Alberti and her father Alessandro Noli created Project Michela alongside the Artemisa Anti-Violence Center in order to enact cultural change and create a pathway for women to escape violence in the home and workplace. All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Artemisia to provide support for women and children who are victims of physical and psychological abuse.

Registration is €5 and participants can sign up by emailing info@gsletorrifirenze.it before May 11 at 8 pm.  (olivia pugsley)
