February 3 Free Museum Sunday

FREE MUSEUM SUNDAY (DOMENICA METROPOLITANA). No admission will be charged at Florence’s state-run museums.

Take the opportunity to visit, for free: the Uffizi Gallery (8:15 am – 6:50 pm); the Palatine Gallery (8 am – 6:50 pm), the Modern Art Gallery (8 am – 6:50 pm), the Fashion and Costume Gallery  (8:15 am – 6:50 pm) in the Pitti Palace; the Academy Gallery (8:15 am – 6:50 pm); the Bargello (National Sculpture Museum, 8:15 am – 1:5o pm); the Archeological Museum (8:30 am – 2 pm); the Medici Chapels (8 am – 1:50 pm); Palazzo Davanzati Museum of the Renaissance Home (8 am – 2 pm) and the Boboli and Bardini Gardens (8:15 am – 6:50 pm).

Residents of the greater Florence metropolitan area are also granted free entrance to civic museums, which include the Church of Santa Maria Novella (1– 5:30 pm), the Brancacci Chapel (1 – 5 pm), the Zeffirelli Foundation (10 am – 6 pm), Palazzo Medici Riccardi (9 am – 7 pm), the Novecento Museum of 20th Century Art (11 am – 5 pm), the Bardini Museum (11 am – 5 pm), the Salvatore Romano Antiquities Foundation (1 – 5 pm) as well as Palazzo Vecchio (9 am – 7 pm) and its tower (10 am – 5 pm).

In the event of bad weather the tower of Palazzo Vecchio will remain closed.
