Free City Museums for Gen Z & Under

Young people ages 18 – 25 with passports issued by countries belonging to the European Union are granted free admission to Florence’s city-run museums on Monday beginning on January 21.  Whether resident of Florence or not, those falling in that age bracket who display identification that fulfills the requirement will be waived ticket fees at Palazzo Vecchio, the Brancacci Chapel, the Bardini Museum, the Novecento Museum of 20th Century Art as well as the Salvatore Romano Antiquities Foundation located in Santo Spirito.

The initiative will be valid for until the end of of 2019; if it is successful, Mayor Nardella will consider offering it permanently.  Guests from E.U. nations who under 18 already do not have to pay entrance at civic museums when the cultural sites are open.  (rosanna cirigliano)
