Red Cross of Florence Holiday Market 2019

The Red Cross of Florence will host a holiday market, whose proceeds will go to Florentine families in need at Palazzo Capponi (via Borgo San Frediano 12) on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 10:30 am – 6:30 pm. The CRI solidarity panettoni (Christmas bread) and various fine products will be for sale throughout the holiday market, which is being held in the same building where the local office of the volunteer organization is located

At the entrance there will be space for children to play while parents can visit the display space devoted to food, objects from the past and present such as French antiques, donated Ferragamo designer clothing and shoes, Villoresi perfumes, cosmetics and skin care products, and Angela Caputi’s fashion accessories in resin.  Household linens, Christmas decorations, toys and books can also be found at the Red Cross holiday market, which has been organized for more than 25 years.  One floor is devoted to vintage clothing in addition to plants and flowers.

Part of the funds raised will also go to a hotline for families in need, homeless people; services at the Meyer Children’s Hospital including support to parents of long term patients; theatrical groups who entertain at assisted living homes; and psychological and social services for those experiencing difficulties.  (mary filatova/additional reporting by rosanna cirigliano)
