A room in the Pitti Palace: La Sala del Bono

REOPENING OF THE PITTI PALACE: The Pitti Palace complex (Palatine Gallery plus the Modern Art Gallery, the Museum of Costume and Fashion, and the Treasury of the Grand Dukes) will once again welcome visitors starting today for the first time after closing in March during the Coronavirus lockdown.  From 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (closed Monday), guests can tour:  the Palatine Gallery; the Fashion and Costume Gallery; the Modern Art Museum: the Porcelain Museum; the “Treasures of the Grand Duke Museum” (formerly the Silver Museum).  The visitor can browse and appreciate Renaissance paintings, antique sculptures, sumptuous period fashion and jewelry, and artworks from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Admission is €16 for a single ticket to all the Pitti Palace museums; €38 for a three-day pass.  The Boboli, the formal Italian gardens complete with statues and fountains that lies behind the complex, reopened last week, and is accessible from 8:30 am to 6:15 pm daily (closed the first and last Monday of the month); entrance €10.   (rosanna cirigliano)
