Tourist Strips Before Botticelli’s Birth of Venus

A Spanish tourist took off all his clothes at the Uffizi Gallery in front of The Birth of Venus, then knelt before Botticelli’s painting, scattering rose petals. Uffizi custodians covered him with a blanket, then the police took him away, as he yelled in English, “freedom, freedom.”  To read more in Italian, visit Florence’s La Repubblica news site.
